Little Mates - An Anzac Challenge JAI65

Well okay so don't ever believe me when I say I will be back tomorrow!!! It appears that in my little part of Blogland 'Back tomorrow' actually means back in a month!!! Can it really have been a month?

Well the photos of the completely cute and gorgeous little bags I was coming back to show you a month ago are still sitting on my desktop waiting to be editted and watermarked along with photos of all the other cards and things I have created since then. They will hopefully make an appearance here for you to see very soon but right now I am here to show you a little something I have made on this Anzac Day.

The girls at Just Add Ink set a really great challenge this week. In the spirit of Anzac Day the challenge is to 'Just Add Mateship/Friendship'. Here is a little bit about Anzac Day firstly;

So What is ANZAC Day all about?

ANZAC Day is a very special day in Australian and New Zealand history. ANZAC stands for the Australia New Zealand Army Corp. and it is significant because on the 25th of April 1915, both countries were involved in a difficult battle on the shores of Gallipoli.

On that fateful day our troops landed on a beach at dawn (now called ANZAC Cove) on the Turkish peninsula . They suffered a terrible defeat but our men fought with great bravery. The battle really highlighted the character traits of mateship and sacrifice. We talk about the Anzac Spirit which was born that day and use the term as a mark of great respect. Australians and New Zealanders commemorate this day with Dawn Services and Anzac Day Marches to remember those who fought and gave their lives for their country, not only in World War 1 but in all subsequent wars.

I knew I just had to play along with this challenge (it's been a long time since I have played with any challenge) and this one seemed like the perfect one to get the ball rolling again. This idea popped into my head while I was trying to fall asleep last night. I thought of the two best little mates I know and thought of this cute little photo that has been stuck to my fridge just as is. I decided to give this super cute photo of my Elliot and his best little friend, Rhys, a gorgeous little magnetic frame to live in:

On the fridge:

Hope you like my cute little frame and hope that on this Anzac Day you have spent a little time thinking of those who gave their lives so we could enjoy the freedom we have today - Lest We Forget.

My Little Easter Project to Share

Happy Saturday............well okay maybe I should say Happy March first seeing as this is my first post for a long while.

I have been one busy little stamper and have lots of cards and projects that I have been creating to show you over the upcoming days.

My first reveal (Hahaha I obviously watch too many makeover shows) is a little Easter project I designed for our most recent A Klass Act stamping get together (***Hi girls xx****). I am so lucky to be part of such an amazing team of girls, lead by the gorgeous Sarah Klass, and even luckier that I get to catch up with them at our monthly team days/nights.

The theme for March's get together was an Easter  shoe box swap (can you believe it's almost Easter already???). I had to think for a good while about what I was going to design for the other girls to create, as I don't own any Easter stamps. I decided that I wanted to make a 3D project and something that could hold some little Easter eggs standing up. So here is the result of quite a lot of brain-straining and failed prototypes...................

I am just a little bit in love with my mini Easter egg bags:

I have actually created a written tutorial for making these little bags so I won't list the Project Recipe here, but will instead work on getting my tutorial worthy of sharing with you all.

Will be back to show off some more creations tomorrow.

A Little Bit Of Love- JAI 54 Colour Combo

Oh dear I just went to link up my Just Add Ink challenge entry this week and realised I just missed the close by a few minutes. What a shame!!! Never mind I'd love to share it with you anyway. I've actually had this card made for days and days but very sadly I dropped my camera on the floor last Friday and smashed the inner LCD screen so had to wait to borrow my Mum's camera today so I could photograph and post my card. Ho hum...poor little camera....I just hope I can get it fixed without having to take out a small loan!!! Hahaha.

Anyway onto my card. I just got this gorgeous 'Love Defined' stamp set from the lastest Summer Mini. It was the first thing I wanted when I saw the catalogue. So I inked it up for the first time for my card using this gorgeous colour combo from the Just Add Ink team:

Aren't those colours just so pretty? And here is my card:

A Card for Mia - Inkspirations Sketch 55

Hello,

Here I am back as promised (can you believe it???) with a birthday card for lovely little Mia who turns four this week. Mia is the daughter of a good friend of ours and I absolutely, completely cannot believe she is turning four as I truly feel like she was born just yesterday. Is that a sign that I'm getting older?

So for my card I decided to use this week's sketch challenge by the girls over at Inkspirations. Here is the sketch:

The idea for this card popped straight into my head and I used this card by the fabulous Teneale Williams for inspiration yet again. I LOVE this little penguin and the beautiful, bright Sweet and Sour DSP.....oooh and the shiny balloons.
Enough babbling now, here is my card:
And here is the inside:
Project Recipe

Sunflowers- Just Add Ink Inspiration Challenge

Happy Sunday everyone,

Just popping in with a quick post today.

Just Add Ink has it's first ever inspiration challenge this week and I just had to play along. Here is the gorgeous picture for inspiration.

As soon as I saw this beautiful sunflower and the stunning colours the idea for my card popped into my head. I knew I just had to ink up the 'Every Moment' stamp set and watercolour using Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso. I wanted my card to be more than just yellow and brown though so used Marina Mist and Kraft to mix it up a bit. The layout for this card was inspired by the lovely swap card my gorgeous friend Sarah-Jane Kale (**Hi SJ xx**) made for our recent team day. Here is my card:
Project Recipe
Stamp sets:      Every Moment; Curly Cute
Ink:                    Daffodil Delight; Early Espresso; Pear Pizzazz: White gel pen
Card/Paper:      Kraft; Marina Mist; Early Espresso; Daffodil Deligh DSP; Marina Mist DSP; Watercolour paper
Accessories:     Marina Mist Satin Ribbon; 1-3/4" Circle Punch; Scallop Circle Punch; Corner rounder punch

I do hope you like my card. I have to say I really like it. It makes me feel happy and cheerful. Let me know what you think.

I'll be popping back again tonight or tomorrow to post a card for a special little girl who is turning 4.
